A Fall wedding in Albany, New York during peak foliage is a photographers dream! If you follow I LOVE NY on Instagram, you definitely know what we are referring to. Truly, what could be more appealing!? That is exactly what crossed Sarah & Ramon's minds as they selected Upstate NY as their dream wedding destination. With their wedding day plans beginning with getting ready at the newly restored boutique hotel, The Argus, on Washington Park, we were beyond prepared for a picture perfect start to the day! We took advantage of the wonderful spaces, indoors and outdoors, before making the quick five minute ride downtown to be married at one of the many gorgeous Mazzone Hospitality properties, 90 State. Tying all of this in with unseasonably warm temperatures for October and shining sun all day you know this celebration was without a doubt the most exciting way to end our 2022 wedding season!

Let's dive into the beginning of the day. Sarah chose a stunning Sophia Tolli dress and included sentimental heirlooms of her grandmother by wearing her pearl drop earrings and wrapping her handkerchief around her bouquet. Such a touching tribute.

While Sarah and the ladies got ready, Ramon prepared himself for his First Look with Sarah; a moment that she was at first hesitant about! Read below to see what the two of them had to say about it:

We really enjoyed the first look - I was hesitant about the decision and we are so glad we went through with it! The moment was emotional and we were so happy to see each other. After that the nerves went away!

Once Ramon was ready, it was time to see one another! With such an incredibly beautiful staircase with the most gorgeous natural light streaming in at the Argus Hotel, we decided this was the best location for their First Look moment of the day.

Afterwards we headed outside and enjoyed the phenomenal scenery surrounding the Argus Hotel and Washington Park in Albany - perfect for wedding day portraits!

I asked the girls to chose any red/maroon velvet dress - I wanted to give them the option to feel comfortable! I chose red because it's my favorite color and fall in upstate NY is beautiful and created a lovely backdrop against the dresses! David at Renaissance Floral Design was the best I knew I wanted my flowers to be white and David suggested the red/pink combination for the bridesmaids bouquets and it turned out stunning! The corsages he made for my mother and Ramon's mother were beautiful as well.

Prepare yourselves, because the next few black & white images of Sarah & Ramon before we headed to downtown Albany are too dreamy.

Finally, ceremony time! The ballroom of their venue, 90 State (a former bank!), was beautifully prepared for their short yet sweet ceremony. Once rings and words of commitment were exchanged, Sarah & Ramon walked back up the aisle as newlyweds, quickly celebrated with family and friends while signing their marriage license, and then darted outside with us to get some newlywed portraits downtown in the streets of Albany while dancing and laughing in love.

Olivia, Shana and Justin from 90 State Events were amazing - Sarah coordinated with Olivia for most of the wedding details and as the wedding day approached, Sarah worked with all three consistently. Shana was amazing and ran the rehearsal and the ceremony and it was perfect! Justin made sure everything was in place at the reception and it was wonderful. We can't thank them enough for their support!!

Check out this room flip! While guests enjoyed happy hour upstairs overlooking the ceremony space the 90 State Events team worked seamlessly to transform the room and get everything prepped for a gorgeous sit down dinner reception.

Introductions and first dances were so fun and exciting! After sharing in their own first dance together, Sarah and her dad shared a heartfelt moment to a cover of Stand by Me by Music Travel Love, while Ramon and his mom gave us an exciting performance to La Bilirrubina by Juan Luis Guerr.

We wanted a healthy amount of Spanish music to represent Ramon's Dominican background and Graham at Conway Entertainment did not disappoint! The reception had a great mix of music to tailor to everyone's dancing preferences!

At the reception my cousin Eric gave great advice and told Ramon and I to take a moment away from everyone and look out over all of the guests and appreciate the friends and family that came to celebrate and help make the wedding day a success!

- Sarah

Hey, Eric, we think that is great advice!

What an absolutely perfect Downtown Albany Wedding at 90 State that showcases the beauty of Upstate NY in the Fall! We are so happy for Sarah & Ramon and are honored to have captured this incredible time in their lives for them. Cheers and congratulations, and thank you so much for having us!
